Alpaca Hike with the Hirschberg Alpacas

At the Bergbauernhof Stauder, high above Lake Millstatt in Carinthia, time moves a little slower.

People, animals, and nature form a harmonious whole here.

Get to know our friendly and gentle alpacas on a hike and escape the fast pace of everyday life.

Artax, Waterloo, Valentino, Felix, Nero, Aramis, Sammy, and Lucky are the cuddly companions who will accompany you from our mountain farm on a leisurely hike up the Hühnersberg (Carinthia, Spittal, Lake Millstatt).

In addition to fun, joy, and exercise in nature, these curious animals also bring us a sense of calm and tranquility through the special human-animal interaction.

Let’s go!

After getting to know the animals and learning interesting facts about these New World camelids, the alpacas are haltered, and we set off on our hike right from the farm.

After about 45 minutes, we’ll take a short break at “Bellevue en Montagne.” While the alpacas graze, we’ll enjoy the breathtaking view of Lake Millstatt. Of course, there’s plenty of time for souvenir photos.

Afterward, it’s a roughly 45-minute walk back to the farm, where we can leisurely wrap up the experience.

In the farm shop, you can purchase alpaca products such as wool, soap, or shoe insoles.
